✨ “Sassafras in the Workshop” — A Christmas Poem ✨
In a corner of the workshop,
Where the winter whispers hum,
Lives a tiny elf named Sassafras—
With rosy cheeks and mischief spun.
She’s dressed in merry crimson,
From her hat down to her toes,
And she follows us to markets
Where the holiday spirit grows.
She tiptoes through the pine shavings,
Breathes in the scent of wood,
For the crackle of a burning piece
Makes her heart feel understood.
She hides among the ornaments,
Or peeks behind a gnome,
A shy and playful wanderer
Who turns each booth into a home.
For children, she plays hide-and-seek,
Her favorite Christmas game—
They spot her little smiling face
And she giggles as they call her name.
Then she asks them, oh-so-quiet,
To help her hide once more,
To find a perfect cozy nook
Unlike the one before.
At night she sprinkles magic dust
On every piece we’ve made,
Little sparks of holiday cheer
That never, ever fade.
She whispers names to all the gnomes,
Gives every angel wings,
And blesses every ornament
With joy that Christmas brings.
So if you see a flash of red
Or hear a tiny laugh that pass—
You’ve just met our workshop guardian,
Our elf, sweet Sassafras.
